International Scale-Up and Fintech Expert Advisor
Alicia Roisman Ismach is a veteran in the technology industry, with a distinguished career that includes leading the Israeli branch of one of the world's top accelerators, the Founder Institute, founding a number of technology companies, launching financial systems at global scale, and shaping the future of fintechs in Atlantic Canada as the founder of Atlantic Fintech.
Born in Argentina and raised in Israel, Alicia developed an early interest in technology, which inspired her journey. During her undergraduate studies, Alicia designed and delivered a course on computer literacy for children using games as teaching method. Upon obtaining her Master Degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, she embarked on a career that has taken her across various sectors the global technology industry.
In her role as Director of the Founder Institute, she guided numerous startups from idea stage through their growth phases, implementing her extensive knowledge and network to ensure their success.
Alicia served as a board member of the America Israel Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Region,
strengthening the strategic relations between the business and technology communities in Israel and the US. She chaired the Technology Committee of the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the world’s leading advocacy and trade association for the payments industry, in more than a dozen countries around the world, representing approximately $47 trillion annually in transactions.
In 2018, shortly after landing in Moncton, NB, Alicia launched Atlantic Fintech, to support local founders developing new financial technologies in their journey to global leadership. Currently, Atlantic Fintech represents an ecosystem of over 140 fintech companies in the 4 provinces of Atlantic Canada.
When the Covid 19 pandemics affected the most vulnerable in our community, Alicia partnered with Diani Blanco to found Queens of Heart, to provide emergency support to parents struggling to cover the most basic needs of their young kids during such challenging times. The initiative supported an average of 30 families per month with emergency boxes for a period of 2 years.
