Cindy Roberts is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience leading corporate strategy, brand development, and reputational risk management, with a proven track record of guiding organizations through transformation and complex challenges. She began her career as co-founder of a boutique communications agency that secured a strategic affiliation with Hill & Knowlton, before being acquired by Arlene Dickinson of Venture Communications.
She has held senior leadership roles across both the private and public sectors, including serving on Swissair’s global crisis communications team during the Flight 111 tragedy and contributing to Hill & Knowlton’s national crisis practice. Her expertise spans economic development, corporate strategy, corporate affairs, and public markets, with experience advising global brands such as Microsoft, Pfizer, New7Wonders of Nature, Sustainable Marine, and Shell Canada.
As Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Meta Materials, she led marketing, investor relations, and government relations, playing a pivotal role in the company’s public listing on the Canadian Securities Exchange and subsequent listing on NASDAQ. She later advanced to Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
Cindy actively volunteers in her community. She served as Chair of the Crew Events & Protocol Committee for Tall Ships 2000, Chair of the World Youth Sailing Fundraiser, VIP Coordinator for the 2003 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, Communications Chair for the 100th Anniversary Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race, and as an executive board member for Sail Nova Scotia. Most recently, she served on the Steering Committee for SailGP in Halifax.
