Kevin Stover is an entrepreneur, visionary executive and global connector. With over 25 years of transaction experience, he has expertly scaled companies, driven international business development, forged global partnerships, and navigated the intricacies of financing and venture capital. Kevin's exceptional ability to tackle complex challenges and cultivate collaborative environments has not only advanced organizational growth but also inspired teams to surpass their potential.
Early in his career, Kevin joined Adrenaline Research Inc., a spinout from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he played a pivotal role on the executive team. In this capacity, he managed relationships with prestigious teams from NASCAR, Formula 1, World Rally as well as global automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier One suppliers. His strategic leadership contributed to the company's success, culminating in its acquisition by publicly traded Fortune 1000 member Woodward, Inc., (NASDAQ:WWD) a global leader in energy control solutions for aerospace and industrial markets.
Joining Woodward after the acquisition, he worked in a new corporate venture capital initiative within the advanced research and development division to fund and innovate new technologies. This included a new engine laboratory at Colorado State University that was focused on energy and innovation. As a result of this program and the team's support and dedication, Fort Collins was designated as one of the United States six key “Places of Invention” by the Smithsonian Institution.
Out of the new group at Woodward, he then co-found and privatized VanDyne SuperTurbo Inc., the first roll out in the public entity's then 150 year history. He was a part of the team that successfully raised over $60 million working with hedge funds, angel investors, family offices, venture capital firms and financial institutions. He also co-led the development of strategic partnerships with The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, (NREL), Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Southwest Research Institute, and the US Super Truck Program.
In 2016 he purchased Black’s Transfer Ltd., a transportation and logistics company serving the eastern seaboard of the US and Canada. While at Black’s, Kevin launched several industry initiatives and served on the Board of the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA). Prior to the sale of the company in 2021, he successfully achieved the designation of Employer of Choice for the first time in the company's 50-plus-year history.
Kevin is a Venture Board Ambassador for the Harvard University HealthLab Accelerator (H2A) programs, early-stage accelerators investing in the long-term potential of social entrepreneurs. He is also a mentor to students in the Lemann Program on Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Harvard University.
Kevin is a graduate of the Scale-Up Atlantic program at the J. Herbert Smith Center for Technology Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of New Brunswick, where he earned his CEO designation. He attended Bishop's University, specializing in marketing and economics through the Commerce program, and is a graduate of Humber College's Public Relations program. He has served on numerous National and International boards for over 20 years. Kevin was a committee member for the Canadian Sail GP race and is involved with Sail Canada.
